Celebrate Joy this Holiday Season Hana-style

Throughout the month of December, you’ll find joy in helping others through Travaasa Hana’s Kokua Tree. For a small donation, add your name to a paper ornament on the tree. Proceeds from the Kokua Tree will benefit Hana Arts, this year’s chosen non-profit. On December 31, Travaasa Hana will ring in 2013 with a special prix fixe dinner, live Hawaiian music, and dancing ’til the clock strikes midnight in our Paniolo Lounge. And, of course, a colorful aerial fireworks display at the stroke of midnight in front of the property. Got Joy?: Equine Encounters at Travaasa By Kristine Huffman

If the stress of the holidays is leaving your decked halls lacking a little fa-la-la this month, you’ll need a little joy. Two of Travaasa’s program offerings, Equine Encounters and Horseback Riding Experience, can help improve your ability to connect, de-stress and feel joy. “Horses are a reflection of who we are,” says Keith Moon, Travaasa Austin’s Equine Manager. “They hold up a mirror to us to tell us about ourselves.” Keith describes a typical Encounter where the Equine team teaches guests how to integrate with the horses to become a part of the herd.
