DIY Beauty: Homemade Tropical Fruits Face Mask
In Hana, our local fruit stands are overflowing with exotic, locally grown produce, so it’s not uncommon to come back from the farmers’ market with a bag full of coconuts, pineapples and bananas—even a few unique finds like spiny, red rambutan or hot pink dragon fruit. Naturally, we want our guests at Travaasa Hana to experience our island’s amazing breadth of just-picked produce, which is why we’re offering the DIY beauty class, “Smoothie For Your Face.” Lead by Ruth, our resident yoga instructor, you’ll learn how to whip up do-it-yourself face masks using fresh, natural ingredients.
Tropical Smoothie + DIY Face Mask
1 papaya or mango- seeded and peeled
2 tablespoons Greek yogurt
1 teaspoon honey
1 small banana
Throw the first four ingredients in your blender and process until smooth. Scoop out 1/4 cup and set it aside for your facial. Add coconut water and ice and process until it is drinking consistency. Apply the mask to your clean face and relax for 10-15 minutes while sipping your smoothie. Remove with warm water and apply a botanical toner and moisturizer.
