AUSTIN:

Saturday June 15th

5-9 pm                  Kick the weekend off with the Travaasa BBQ Bash! Executive Chef Ben Baker will host the dinner at Travaasa Austin on   Saturday June 15th, 2013 from 5-9 p.m. This fun-filled event features smoked meats from around Texas and goes to benefit Foodways Texas: an organization whose mission is to preserve, promote, and celebrate the diverse food cultures of Texas. Tickets are $100 per person.

Sunday June 16th

8:30 a.m.              The Tibetan yogis say masculine energy is that of compassion. Spend the morning rejuvenating for father’s day in Compassion: The Meditation of the Masculine. This class will focus on proper sitting posture and developing compassion through guided meditation, a perfect kick-start for dad’s day!

10:00 a.m.           After a morning meditation, hit the Challenge Course and navigate the obstacles together! Begin at a Cob Web, progress over Raider Bridge, through the Flying V, and Double Trouble. The linear progression of the course culminates with a fantastic flight over 250 feet long, soaring over the tree tops!

1:00 p.m.             Can you think of any activity manlier than creating a strong foundation for the sport of Archery? Experience techniques to develop your focus, patience, flexibility, concentration, and attention skills and understand why great archers continually develop these simple concepts to heighten all aspects of their lives.

3:00 p.m.             Hit the trails with your family on a Guided Hike! During this tour, you’ll learn about local flora, fauna and the history and ecology of the area. Hikes are open to all and accommodate a wide range of interests and abilities.

7:00 p.m.             When dinnertime rolls around, try our Community Dining Table and meet other couples or families celebrating their fathers as well! Seating at Jean’s Kitchen starts at 7pm and dinner is served on a continuing flow as guests arrive.

 

HANA:

Saturday June 15th

4:00 p.m.             There’s nothing dads love more than vacation and beer, why not mix the two on our Island Brew Hop? Maui Brewing Co. (MBC) is the only brewer and canners of craft beer in Hawaii. MBC representatives will be sharing their passion for beer at Travaasa Hana, leading guests through the many components of beer tasting and brewing. Don’t miss out!

6:15 p.m.             Bring the whole family for a classic Movie Night in Travaasa Hana’s Makana Center! This event is available for all ages but those under the age of 15 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Sunday June 16th

9:00 a.m.              No better way to celebrate an unforgettable father than with an unforgettable flight! Wake up to a Glider Adventure and experience the thrill of Soaring Flight with your family! Waterfalls, lush green valleys and the vast Pacific Ocean is only a backdrop for memories that will last a lifetime.

9:00 a.m.              If you decide to skip the Glider Adventure, try waking the family up with some useful, strengthening Core Conditioning! Our 45-minute core class will tone your abs, lower back and glutes. You’ll improve core strength, balance and total body function using stability balls and gravity-resistant exercises.

1:00 p.m.             Get groovy with your family for some Hawaiian Ukulele Lessons! You’ll learn basic chords, and before long, you’ll be playing a well-known song. We’ll send you home with sheet music, a little bit of history about the ‘Ukulele, and we even sell small ‘Ukulele in our gift shop—just in case you want to serenade family and friends at your next lū‘au.

2:00 p.m.             Originally, hula was danced by men, so why not learn it? Hula is more than just a dance—it is something that links Hawaiians to ‘Aina (land) and Kai (ocean) and in broader terms, to the story of life. Join us for Hula Lessons to learn stories and traditions that were passed from generation to generation.

6:30 p.m.             Every visitor to Hawai’i yearns for an evening of live music. Join us in the Ka’uiki Restaurant Lounge for a family dinner and Ho’onanea Sundays! The history and heritage of live, local kanikapila style is an inspiring and memorable journey in to the soul of island music!
