Fitness Tips: Walk for 30 minutes a Day
What may be surprising to you is how easy it can be to maintain a healthy weight. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the average adult, age 18-64, requires 150 minutes of aerobic exercise a week. An easy way to achieve this goal is to plan on walking 30 minutes per day, five days a week.
Now for some of us, 30 minutes a day may seem a little daunting at first, but if you do some simple planning, it’ll be a breeze. If you don’t have the time to go on a brisk 30 minute walk, you can easily break it down into 10-minute increments throughout your day. By breaking it down, you’ll still generate the same results and burn the same amount of calories as you would if you were to go for 30 minutes straight.
Naturally, being based in Austin and Hana, we have no issue with getting out to explore our surroundings. Austin and Hana are packed with beautiful trails that exemplify the picturesque backgrounds of Texas Hill Country (Austin) or the Pacific Ocean (Hana). But if you happen to be elsewhere in the world a few places we suggest you utilize to achieve this include local trails, treadmills, or just around the block while at work or at home.
