Healthy Recipe: Blackberry Tart Recipe from Chef Ben at Travaasa Austin
We all enjoy some good old comfort food once in awhile and there’s nothing better than a little sweet treat when it comes to this indulgence. Now luckily for you, you can make this occasion more than a rare treat with our very own Chef Ben’s healthy spin on Blackberry Tart. Do not be fooled by this rich and delicious vegan dessert. It has mass appeal, and luxurious texture.
Raw Blackberry Tart
For the crust:
2 Cups Medjool dates (pitted)
⅔ cup almonds
⅔ cup cashews
⅔ cups pecans
2 tsp. vanilla extract
Blend all ingredients in a food processor.
Divide mixture into six small pieces and mold into little concave tart shells.
This mixture will be pliable and malleable, it should be very easy for you to shape.
For the filling:
Farm Fresh Blackberries
Macerate the blackberries in grapefruit juice and agave nectar.
Fill the pre-chilled tart shells with the blackberry filling
