AUSTIN, TX (January 23, 2013) – Travaasa® Experiential Resorts, a growing collection of destination resorts and spas, proudly announces the appointment of Adam Cormany as Director of Food & Beverage at Travaasa® Austin. Specializing in locally infused, experiential travel, the brand’s portfolio currently includes two properties: Travaasa® Austin, opened in May 2011, and Travaasa® Hana, Maui, opened June 2011.
As Director of Food & Beverage, Cormany will oversee Travaasa® Austin’s well-rounded culinary program, which takes a farm-to-table approach to dining, using quality, seasonal ingredients with a focus on supporting regional growers. He will also oversee Travaasa® Austin’s beverage program, featuring organic, biodynamic and sustainable wines made by boutique producers, wines from some of Texas’ finest wine producers, beers from some of Texas’ great craft brewers, and imported organic brews.

Cormany brings 12 years of food & beverage and hospitality experience to his new role at Travaasa® Austin. Prior to his experience at Travaasa® Experiential Resorts, Cormany served as Food & Beverage Outlets Manager for Lakeway Resort and Spa, located in Austin, Texas, where he oversaw the operation of five dining outlets. Cormany also served as Outlets Manager for DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Hotel Austin, where he oversaw all food & beverage directorial duties involving outlet operations. Cormany attended the University of Alaska and resides in Austin, Texas.

In addition to her new role, Huffman also serves as the Brand Experience Director for Travaasa® Experiential Resorts. As General Manager of Travaasa® Austin, Huffman will play a key role in managing guest services for rapidly expanding Travaasa® Experiential Resorts as well as oversee all Austin property operations. As Travaasa® Brand Experience Director, Huffman supervises the development and implementation of each property’s diverse activity offerings, which echo the brand’s five pillars: adventure, culinary, culture, fitness and wellness. In her combined role of Travaasa® brand and property management, Huffman will ensure guests have an extraordinary stay at Travaasa® Austin and continue delivering unique programming that leaves guests feeling both inspired and refreshed.

Prior to her role with Travaasa® Experiential Resorts, Huffman founded The Peak Performance Practice, providing consulting to hospitality and health care organizations such as Miraval Resorts and Maine General Health Systems. She also served as Executive Director of Health and Healing at Canyon Ranch Resort where she assisted with the development of the wellness program at Canyon Ranch: Lenox. Her extensive expertise in hospitality consulting ranges from wellness-based spa developments to sales training and operational growth of facilities.

This holiday season, Travaasa Experiential Resorts, a leading destination resort and spa brand, is helping to answer common holiday questions and concerns with the launch of #HolidayProblems, a collective resource of tips and tricks designed to celebrate healthy living. Travaasa Experiential Resorts will tap into its extensive pool of on-site experts including fitness gurus, yogis, meditation experts, spa therapists and an esteemed culinary team to enlist advice for those seeking quick and easy ideas for staying fit and stress free this season.
The daily tips, workouts and recipes will be shared via the brand’s blog, Facebook and Twitter (@Travaasa).
