AUSTIN, Texas (April 13, 2012) – The award-winning Spa at Travaasa® Austin is proud to announce the introduction of a Watsu® program to the destination resort and spa’s existing menu of innovative treatments. This unique form of bodywork is performed in a specialized, private pool heated to body temperature (96 degrees). Dedicated to health and wellness, The Spa at Travaasa® Austin will offer 60 minute Watsu® sessions as well as 60 minute Waterdance® sessions in a traditional Watsu® pool. Treatments are tailored to each individual’s specific needs, and can be effective for improving circulation, help lessen everyday stress, arthritis, anxiety, chronic pain and relieve pressure to nerves, joints and muscles.

Watsu® treatments offered at The Spa at Travaasa® Austin include:

o Watsu® Sessions – A combination of unique stretches and natural movements of the body in a private, secluded pool is designed to help to free the spine and open energy pathways for improved physical mobility. (60 minutes)

o Waterdance® Sessions – An expansion on the Watsu® treatment, this practice slowly introduces stretches and movements that completely submerge the entire body underwater. The dynamic experience allows the body to move limitlessly, and is profoundly meditative and effective for deepening emotional awareness. (60 minutes)

Joining the Travaasa® Austin team, Laura Srygley is a Certified Watsu® practioner and a member of the Worldwide Aquatic Bodywork Association, Association of Bodywork Professionals and is nationally certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.
